Dear Weeping for Wifi,

If you’re reading this by candelight, I hope it’s illuminating your well-earned cocktail. Recent Biblical storms and accompanying power outages have exposed an unexpected truth about Lake Bluff: half the town has electricty and half the town is living in Little House on the Prairie. Our conversations have changed, too. We used to ask, “how are you?” Now it’s: “You got power?” And as much as Bluffers love vintage (as you read this artifact), we don’t want vintage in our yogurt. So, if you’re one of the lucky ones with power, maybe invite a neighbor over so they can stick their head in your freezer for a moment, charge their phone and text other neighbors, “you got power yet?”
