Starting Friday with a High Five
On Friday mornings, there’s a little extra energy at the front doors of Lake Bluff Elementary School. High Five Friday brings community partners, friends and supporters to LBES to greet students as they arrive - with music playing, plenty of smiles and, of course, high fives.
“High Five Friday is an opportunity for us to celebrate all of our hard work throughout the week,” says LBES Principal Kellie Bae. “We play music and have special guests greet students with a high five as they enter LBES.”
Throughout the school year, different members of the community take a turn at the doors, offering students a decidedly upbeat start to the final school day of the week. This year, LFHS athletes and former LBES students had the opportunity to visit the school that helped shape them. Elementary students were equally excited; student Emma Parry and many friends wore their Junior Scouts uniforms to pose with the dance team.
