Remembered: Thomas Michael Weber

November 15, 1942 – January 8, 2026

Tom Weber was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who never missed an opportunity to make life more fun.

Married to Jean for 59 years, Tom was the proud father of four daughters—Amy (Aaron), Carrie (Clay), Emily (Jose), and Molly (Brad Harper) of Lake Bluff—as well as grandfather to ten grandchildren and great-grandfather to four.

A lifelong sports enthusiast turned “girl dad,” Tom spent countless hours throwing footballs and baseballs, shooting baskets, playing tennis, and eventually cheering on his grandchildren, even developing an appreciation for dance performances along the way.

Known for his sense of adventure and humor, Tom loved hearing the latest family stories and offering his opinions on whatever gossip was unfolding. His advice was simple and consistent: nothing else in the world mattered except doing what made you happy.

Many of his family’s favorite memories were made at a beloved off-the-grid cabin in Canada that Tom visited for 76 consecutive summers. Upon arriving, his foot immediately went through a rotten step leading into the cabin—a story he loved to retell for decades. Today, generations of the family still gather there each summer, enjoying propane lanterns, no electricity, and the rare opportunity to experience the same childhood Tom once did.

Back home, he transformed ordinary days into family traditions, organizing picnics, friendly competitions, tennis matches and horseshoe games. In winter, he famously turned the family tennis court into an ice rink by laying plastic over the surface and spraying it with water on freezing nights.

Tom will be remembered by showing those around him that a joyful life is a well-lived one spent with family.
